Owned and operated by Patrick Okon and Josh Picart - JPEG Studios sits among its contemporaries at 800 Union Ave in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
A new addition to MNTD Studios - next to Fool Proof Brewing, the duo offers a place open to its peers that encourages collaboration and creative expression.
Introduced to the space by fellow artist, Marcus, better known by his moniker “Tang Russ”, Patrick pitched the idea after attending Dertbag 2025 spring summer fashion show.
Once they agreed on an opening date, they got to work. Josh shared the story of the coveted TV wall; an explanation here couldn’t do it justice. You’ve got to view it in all its glory! He recounted his late-night trips to Massachusetts and storage units, coordinating with coworkers to bring his vision to life - all to create an eye-catching display, just steps into the studio.

Celebrity shoots lined up side by side, the two have worked with some heavy hitters, gathering behind-the-scenes and candid shots, always catching them in their element. The space serves as a reminder of not only where they’ve been, but where they aim to land - amongst the stars.

Running into one another by happenstance in New York, Josh and Patrick began working together, bringing their own individual flair to shoots across the country.
Both having grown up in and around Bridgeport, they met years before they decided to collaborate on purchasing and building out their studio.
In order to really marvel in the growth, we’ve got to take it back to the beginning.
Patrick found his love for photography and artistic direction through early 2000s sneaker conventions and photography inspiration via Tumblr and KicksOnFire, a relic for shoe lovers and OG sneakerheads.
Curating, unique and stylish shots for fellow traders gave him his start, always looking to up the ante - he found his heart’s home and a passion for advertising.
The studio has given him ample time and space to explore this newfound passion and play with different concepts.

Around the same time, Josh found his love for film through concert photography, sourcing a vintage camera, a zoom lens from Facebook marketplace - the seed was planted.
This introduction to the world of analog allowed him to explore and release his own photobook series - the first of which was available in the studio during the grand opening weekend.
The two spoke with enthusiasm about the future of their space and respective careers; they look forward to sharing the space with their creative counterparts.
There’s so much more on the horizon, with the studio open 24 hours - not only to book, but also to rent for any creative ideas ready to be brought to life.
From meeting Patrick 10+ years ago in high school (sheesh, it’s been forever!) to a spot on the 2025 Bridgeport Art Trail, it’s been amazing seeing the growth - excited to see the two take their work into the stratosphere.
